💍 Project Overview

When I first began working with Eldivaz Bridal, I was immediately drawn to the charm and heart behind the brand. Known for their timeless gowns and deeply personalized service, Eldivaz Bridal had built a strong reputation within their community—but their website wasn’t telling the same story.

The original site felt outdated and difficult to navigate. Key information was buried, visuals lacked consistency, and the overall experience didn’t reflect the elegance or warmth of the boutique itself. Brides—many of whom were in the early stages of a high-stress planning process—deserved a digital experience that felt just as graceful and supportive as the in-person one.

So I set out to redesign EldivazBridal.com with one clear goal: To create a modern, inviting, and user-friendly website that truly reflects the experience of finding your dream gown.

The Problem

Eldivaz Bridal is known for offering a warm, elegant, and highly personal in-store experience—but their website didn’t reflect that. Instead of inspiring confidence and excitement, brides often found the site hard to navigate, visually outdated, and lacking the essential info they needed to feel prepared.

For many brides, the website is the first impression—and it wasn’t matching the magic of the boutique itself. The challenge was to create a modern, user-friendly digital experience that felt just as graceful and welcoming as walking through the shop doors.

How might we transform the Eldivaz Bridal website into a digital space that’s as thoughtful, beautiful, and trustworthy as the gowns themselves?

👰🏽 User Interviews

To truly understand the needs of modern brides, I started by listening. I spoke with several women who had recently gone through the wedding planning process—some brides, some bridesmaids, and one very seasoned maid of honor. Each brought a different perspective, but they all had one thing in common:
they remembered exactly how it felt to search for the right dress… and the right experience.

Through these conversations, I explored how they found their gowns, what made a boutique stand out, and what role the website played in shaping their decisions.

I asked questions like:

  • Where did you start your search for a wedding dress?

  • Did you use a shop’s website to make your decision or book an appointment?

  • What information did you wish was easier to find?

  • What frustrated you most about the online search process?

  • What would make a bridal shop’s website feel more trustworthy or helpful?

"I didn’t even bother booking an appointment if I couldn’t tell whether they carried my size. It’s already an emotional process—no one wants to feel like an afterthought before they even walk in the door." - Interviewee

Many participants recalled the emotional weight of wedding dress shopping—how important it felt, how overwhelming it could be, and how they were often left guessing whether a boutique would carry their size, style, or price range. Some turned away from certain shops altogether because the websites felt dated or impersonal, and several noted how meaningful it was to see real brides and real gowns—not just fashion models and highly styled photoshoots.

These insights reminded me that a bridal website isn’t just a marketing tool—it’s part of the experience. It should feel calm, inclusive, beautiful, and reliable. Like a soft “welcome in” before the bride ever steps through the door.

💬 Making Sense of the Stories: Affinity Map

After listening to each participant’s story, I stepped back and began organizing all the feedback—everything from offhand comments to deep frustrations—into themes.

Using affinity mapping, I was able to visually group common pain points, wishes, and emotional moments that brides and bridal party members shared about their dress-shopping journeys.

While every wedding is different, some consistent patterns emerged:

By stepping back and sorting this feedback into themes, the core opportunities became clear: reshaping the navigation, layout, content strategy, and overall feel of the new Eldivaz Bridal site was key.

✏️ Sketching It Out: Lo-Fi Wireframes

With insights from real brides and bridal party members fresh in my mind, I rolled up my sleeves and began sketching. At this stage, it wasn’t about polish or perfection—it was about building a thoughtful foundation. I wanted to translate everything I’d learned into a structure that felt welcoming, intuitive, and beautiful in its simplicity.

My focus was on designing an experience that would meet brides where they are—emotionally and practically. Whether someone was browsing on their lunch break or deep in the planning zone late at night, I wanted the site to feel accessible, inclusive, calming and clear.

These early wireframes helped map out the most essential elements:

  • An elevated homepage that draws users in with elegance and warmth

  • A personalized profile page to save their favorite dresses and preferences

  • A collections page that showcases gowns in an easy-to-browse layout

  • A services section that clearly outlines what to expect

  • A simple registration and appointment booking flow with no guesswork

  • And most importantly, content that makes every bride feel seen

By starting in low fidelity, I was able to test out layouts, restructure content, and make quick decisions that stayed rooted in empathy and purpose.

💍 From Structure to Storybook:
Hi-Fi Wireframes

Once the foundation was in place, it was time to bring Eldivaz Bridal’s new digital presence to life. With the wireframes as a guide, I began layering in the visual identity—soft elegance, clean typography, warm whites and pastel tones, and just the right amount of modern polish.

Every design choice was made to reflect how a bride should feel when exploring the site: welcomed, confident, and inspired.

The new designs aim to honor what Eldivaz has always done best in person—just now, beautifully translated online.

🔁 Iterations

Based on user feedback, I made thoughtful refinements to enhance clarity, visual hierarchy, and the overall booking experience.

Here are a few iterations that were made:

*Desktop Homepage: Before & After

  • Gave the logo and branding a softer, more elegant feel

  • Used warm whites and pastel tones

*Enhancing the Details Page: Tablet View

  • Used cleaner typography for an overall modern and polished look

  • Now showcasing real brides in real gowns

💭 Final Reflection

Designing the new website for Eldivaz Bridal reminded me just how much impact a thoughtful digital experience can have—especially when it’s tied to a moment as personal and emotional as finding a wedding dress.

This wasn’t just about improving layouts or updating visuals—it was about creating a space where brides could feel confident, celebrated, and understood from the very first click. Every decision, from simplifying navigation to showcasing real brides, was made with care and empathy, guided by the voices of women who had recently walked this journey.

Through this project, I deepened my appreciation for designing with heart and intention. I learned how to turn meaningful conversations into meaningful design—and how to bridge the gap between timeless tradition and modern digital expectations.

More than anything, this case study reinforced why I love doing this work: because great design has the power to make people feel seen, supported, and even a little more excited for what comes next.
